All essays written for class

Why I am here
Athletic and intelligent that would describe the type of person I am. The reason I came to Concordia college- Selma is to play baseball. I never thought I was here to be in academic boot camp during the summer. While I am here I am going to take advantage of the situation. My personality and morals will not let me just give up and quit. This can only be good for me it will not hurt me in any way. Taking these classes and passing will give me a jumpstart on the incoming freshmen. This will also take some of the weight off my shoulders for the upcoming fall semester. By being here I will get a chance to “man up” and walk the line of a grown and responsible man.
My Third Week At Concordia
My third week at academic boot camp was real smooth. After getting acquainted with the five thirty work outs I was alright. It feels like I am a machine now I automatically get up and run. Nothing really happens during the week to make my days exciting just the same thing everyday. I really can say the most was exciting thing that is going to happen this week is going to jail. This week was boring like the rest of them are going to be.
My Weekend At Concordia
A weekend full of bugs and fish is not one of my normal ones. This weekend we went to the lake and went fishing. I am not the most extravagant fisher so I did not catch any fish. The only thing I did was stand back watch and listen to my mp3 player. To be honest the best part of the day was when we came back and ate the fish they had caught. Sunday was one of the regulars it started by me going to the batting cage. To think about it I did not even eat breakfast. Around eleven o’ clock I went back to my room and went to sleep until it was time to go to lunch. After eating lunch I played a quick game of pool and watched the first half of sports center. At five I went to dinner ate a salad and a sandwich then went back to my room for my daily nape. I really never get a full nape because of the crazy, playful, and energetic dorm mates. When I take my shower at eight thirty my night ends, I have to get my sleep if I am gone wake up five thirty.
Visit To The Jail
The day June 20, 2009, I went to visit the Perry County Correctional Facility in Uniontown Alabama. The jail was unmorally small, but the guards were serious. There were a lot of things that I already knew about jail, like the intake room and the small celled the whole. I thought I knew everything about a jail, but the guards showed me some things I never knew they had. One thing was a cell designed for inmates with any type of disease that instead of air flowing in the air was being sucked out. This cell sucked any airborne germs the inmate was putting out; this would lower the chances of the inmate spreading the germs to the guards. The meals served in jail are almost equivalent to dog food. Inmates only get one serving of food served on a tray called the dead mans tray. The only inmates that eat almost too human standards are the cooks. This is because they spend time preparing the food for all of the inmates and deserve a little reward. Respect and discipline is the key to making it in jail. “If you are respectful to the guards they will give more respect, not saying this will give you more freedom but it makes your time in jail a little bit easier”. These are the things the guard told me some of the smarter inmates do to try to get more things. I really say all this to say, “Jail is not a place for any sane person who wants to be anything in life.
Summary of Miden's Reflection
My fellow classmate Miden gave a brief summary on his reflection. He said he reflected on all of the athletes and the season they had. It is many athletes from different places at this camp so he had to do a lot of reflecting. I really do not know why he chose to reflect on such a thing, but I guess that is what he was thinking about at the time. Miden’s point was to see what made all these athletes so special and what got them here. He also reflected on the type of season he had as a senior athlete. From what I know, it was not too good and he was one of the top prospects to come out his school this year. All these athletes come from schools with pretty descent records and great talent. Miden reflecting on this might just be him thinking about what kind of athletic department Concordia will have in the future.

Evaluation of course

I can say the course went real well. Understanding that Mrs. Ross had to teach three months off work in five weeks. I do not know if it because we had a short course but it seem like every lesson was taught very fast. Not saying that I did not learn anything but if it was little bit slower I could have comprehended more. Going fast made me buckle down and do nothing but work all day long but that is what I really needed. My opinion is that every lesson was broken down to the best of ability due to the time limit put on the course. The class could have been better if we had fewer lessons and just focused on the main points of the course. In all the course was well taught.

Self Analysis

I am a Cedric Hart from Atlanta, Ga. My favorite activity to engage in is playing baseball. My family comes before anything in my life nothing can come between our bond. I know I have what it takes to become successful because my family raised me to never quit and to never give up. My morals in life are always finding a way to come out on top and there is always around the negative things. If I always believe in these morals I can always succeed in life. As far as my future goes I have to succeed in life so I can show people around the world that black men can make it in life. I have a lot of different qualities to offer the world. One thing would be my ability to motivate people to do the things they believe in and never stop believing there self. If I had a voice loud enough to be herd around the world I, my words of motivation could persuade a lot of people that living a pure and law abiding life is the best way to live. As my life goes on I really have matured and see that to be a real successful person you have to get your education and not just finish high school. That is not good enough you have to get some kind of degree. This is why I haven chosen to further my education and make a difference in the world.

List of things I would change about myself

1.I would like become stronger in the class room.
If I become stronger in class I can go further in life.
2.I would like to be more self motivated.
If I become self motivated I will not need a lot of people in my life.
3.I would like to be more responsible.
I need to become more responsible now that I am a young adult because I will have a lot of things on my plate.
4.Not giving people a chance who I think I would not like.
I need to open my eyes more and start giving people a chance. I never know what a person is put in my life for.

letter to all the people who tried to bring me down

Dear, Haters

I just want to start this letter saying thank you all, if it was not for your negative attitude and your motivation to bring me down I would not be the person I am today. Your negativity made me push harder to what I was trying to accomplish. I give you your credit all the time you spent trying to bring me down almost got the best of me. The work you put in helped me become a stronger person mentally and it also made me see myself bigger than the people with negative influences on me. To tell you the truth all things you were doing made me think how many more haters I would get as I got larger in life. The things you were doing influenced me to do better so you could find more things that I could improve on. All this was really just making me a person with fewer flaws. The more things you thought was wrong I would make better and become a better person day by day and night by night. Soon there will be nothing you can say and you will just have to find someone else or just improve yourself.

Sincerely,

Cedric Hart

Philosophy On Life

There are a lot of ways I view life. One way is a gateway for opportunities to succeed in life. Life present a lot ways to become successful you just have to know how to see them and take advantage. The way I see there is no excise for a person not to succeed in today’s society. It is too many ways a person can earn an opportunity to make a reasonable living. Life can also be viewed as an endless test of trials and tribulations. God put obstacles in our life to see how you would handle them either you would over come them or let them take you down. If you are able to over come them you can be blessed with the better things in life. I know life can be a hectic obstacle course most of the time but if you just follow in the right footsteps or create your own positive steps; everything will come together like a puzzle. Life has pieces to this puzzle scattered all around you. The pieces could be your job or a proposition someone presents you with. You just have to know how select the pieces that will fit in your puzzle. Once your puzzle is full you will have a nice and livable life. You will know when the puzzle is complete because you will have no more worries in life. This is the way I view life.
